Abby Pogrebin American writer
Abigail Pogrebin is the author of “My Jewish Year: 18 Holidays, One Wondering Jew,” which was praised by David Gregory in the New York Times in April 2017, a finalist for a 2018 National Jewish Book Award, and featured on the Today Show. She is also the author of “Stars of David: Prominent Jews Talk about Being Jewish” and “One and the Same” about being a twin. A former Emmy-nominated producer for Ed Bradley and Mike Wallace at “60 Minutes” and for Bill Moyers at PBS, she has written for numerous publications including New York Magazine, Newsweek, Vogue, The Daily Beast, The Forward, and Tablet. She co-hosted a podcast for Tablet Magazine called “Parsha in Progress,” and moderates an interview series at the JCC in Manhattan, where her guests have included Malcolm Gladwell, Madeleine Albright, Samantha Power, David Remnick, Roxane Gay, and Nicholas Kristof. She has also moderated conversations at UJA Federation, The Streicker Center, The Shalom Hartman Institute, and The Jewish Week. She has been interviewed herself on Face the Nation, the Today Show, GMA, Charlie Rose, and CNN.
